What are the precautions for spraying?
Spraying Operation Safety Technical Measures
Spray painters must undergo safety training. Those who haven't received the training are not allowed to work.
2. Before conducting the painting operation, it is necessary to thoroughly inspect all the painting equipment and tools to ensure there are no issues.
3. The ventilation and purification in the spraying workshop must comply with the requirements of GB 6415.
4. During work, the enterprise's safety technology department should regularly measure the oxygen content and the concentration of combustible gases in the enclosed space. The oxygen content should be no less than 18%, and the concentration of combustible gases should be no less than 10% of the lower explosive limit.
5. For the painting work inside the ship, at least two or more people should work together. If the workshop is too narrow to accommodate only one person at a time, another person should be responsible for supervision.
6. High-pressure spraying operations must comply with the "Safety Regulations for High-altitude Work on Ships" regulations.
7. Multiple spray guns are working simultaneously, so the distance between them should be adjusted (about 5 meters) and they should be sprayed in a certain direction.
8. For special coating operations, the spraying equipment and hoses should be managed by designated personnel. In case of equipment failure or abnormality, the crew members on board should be evacuated first, and then the maintenance personnel can carry out the repair work.
9. The high-pressure jet and leakage from the Mugas spray paint can cause serious injuries. Therefore, during work, one should:
A. At all times, the spray gun nozzle must never be pointed at others or oneself.
B. Do not touch the nozzle or the gun barrel with your fingers.
When cleaning the spray gun, the power source of the pump must be disconnected, the pressure released, and the safety device removed from the spray gun before cleaning can be carried out.
D. If the spray gun is no longer in use, the safety latch should be securely fastened.
10. After the work is completed, the spray gun should be promptly removed from the cabin and ventilation should continue until the paint film has completely solidified.
11. After the painting work is completed, the workshop should be promptly cleaned. The remaining paint and solvents should be returned to the warehouse in time; they must not be left randomly.
12. Operators must wear protective masks, rubber gloves, goggles and other protective equipment.
What is the method of spraying?
There are many methods of spraying, including painting method, immersion coating method, air spray method, high-pressure air spray method, electrostatic painting method, and electrophoretic coating method, etc.
The requirements for coating assembly and product materials in spray painting are rarely met by using a single coating. This is because it is a coating without uneven holes. Basic paint and finish layers are often used, and additional intermediate layers or additional finish layers beyond the closed finish layer can be added as needed. The primer layer has good adhesion to the coated workpiece, and the paint layer must have good adhesion and rust prevention ability. The supporting principles for the primer and topcoat layers are as follows:
1. Good for drying primer layer and drying topcoat; supports self-drying primer and self-drying topcoat; matching primer and topcoat for the same base paint.
2. When using strong solvents for polishing, such as nitrocellulose paint, perchloroethylene paint, etc., the primer layer must be protected from being attacked by the strong solvents. For example, alkoxy paint, epoxy paint, etc.
3. The primer and the topcoat should have approximately the same hardness and elongation.
4. When using the dispersion-type paint in combination with the solid-type primer, its heat resistance is relatively poor. 5. The oil content of the primer is shorter than that of the topcoat. Otherwise, the weather resistance of the topcoat will be poor, and the drying shrinkage of the primer will be different, which can easily cause cracks in each layer.
6. When using multi-layer heterogeneous coatings, the middle layer is often adopted for the conversion of the paint, achieving a good combination between the base layer and the polishing process.
