What are the common problems and solutions in spray painting operations?
Spraying phenomenon: Particles
Reason: The work site was not clean, and dust was mixed in the paint. The paint was left for too long after being mixed, and the paint and curing agent had already formed copolymer particles. The oil leakage from the spray gun was too small, the air pressure was too high, the paint mist was poor, or the spray gun was too close to the water surface.
Solution: Clean the painted room and cover the paint bucket. If the paint is well-mixed, it should not be left for too long. It is recommended to adjust the spray gun to ensure it is in the best working condition, and keep the nozzle 20-50 centimeters away from the water surface.
Phenomenon: Vertical Flow
Reasons: Excessive thinner causes the paint viscosity to be too low, losing its viscosity. The leakage is too large, too close to the object surface, or the spraying operation is too slow. Each fuel spray volume is too large or the re-spraying interval is too short. The water surface is uneven, especially the streamlined shape is prone to flow.
Solution: Adjust proportion as needed; control the oil discharge during painting to increase the working speed of the spray gun. Do not spray too thickly each time; it is better to control the interval between sprayings in two stages. Adjust the outflow volume to reduce the thickness of the film. Mix according to the instructions for use.
Spraying phenomenon: Orange peel texture
Reason: There are too many high topics, the paint film dries too quickly, and the reaction is severe. The spraying pressure is too high and cannot blow the textured paint film. The temperature at the work site is too high. Does the paint film need to be treated seriously?
Solution: Follow the instructions for proportioning. To control the pressure, it should not be too high. Pay attention to the ambient temperature. You can add a slow-drying diluent to slow down the drying process.
4. Phenomenon: White
Reason: The temperature and humidity at the work site are high, causing severe reaction of the paint film. It combines with the moisture in the air and may result in a white appearance. Excessive curing agent, too much and too thickly applied at one time
Solution: Pay attention to the humidity at the site. Add anti-fading agent to prevent the occurrence of whitening. Adjust the amount proportionally. Don't spray too thickly even after one application.
Phenomenon: Bubbling
Plaintiff: The water in the compressed air mixed into the paint film. The workshop temperature was high, and the paint was too dry. The material surface had a high moisture content and the air humidity was high. The one-time spray was too thick.
Solution: Pay attention to oil-water separation and drainage; please add a slow-drying diluent. Clean the surface, add anti-bleeding water to the paint; do not apply too thick a layer at one time.
Phenomenon: Contraction
Reason: The primer or intermediate coating did not dry before the paint polishing process.
The solution involves applying the recommended thicknesses of each scan-coated layer.
7. Phenomenon: Wrinkling
Reasons: The drying time is too short or the film is too thick. The choice of primer or putty curing agent is inappropriate; the primer and putty are incomplete; when spraying the paint, one spray gun is hung too thickly, and the internal evaporation does not occur in time, resulting in no external evaporation.
Solution: There should be sufficient drying time between each coating layer. After leveling, only two more coatings or wet spray can be applied.
What is the purpose of spraying?
Firstly, spraying is used to extend the lifespan of the workpiece in a protective manner. Secondly, it serves a decorative and aesthetic purpose. Additionally, it enables the achievement of specific properties for particular uses. For instance, it can provide sound insulation, heat insulation, or fire resistance, etc.
According to the purpose and requirements of the coating application, the coating consists of multiple layers including primer, putty, and gloss.
Basic paint: The lower layer coating that comes into direct contact with the working gas of the coating. The function of the basic paint is to enhance the adhesion between the coating and the gas, and to improve the protective performance of the coating. Black metals are flammable before packaging, and有色金属 needs to be oxidized before coating. Putty layer: For rough and uneven gases, using a putty layer has many disadvantages, including construction problems and reducing the bonding force between the coating and the gas.
The main purpose of the paint layer is to enhance the luster of the product, and it is used as the outer layer of the coating.
